The International Human Exposome Network (IHEN) is looking for input on its roadmap for exposome research in Europe. The consultation aims to ensure it address challenges facing the field in the coming years and guides researchers with key research priorities.

Complete our consultation by 15 October (deadline extended)

Exposome research has expanded exponentially in the last few years, bringing impressive new research and collaborations worldwide. IHEN is bringing these exposome researchers together -building an international network to improve global research and cooperation on the exposome.

The future of exposomics

Our roadmap for exposome research aims to shape the future of the field, by bringing together tools, methodologies, and ideas to help society address the major challenges ahead. The roadmap tackles the following five goals.

  • How does global change impact the exposome?
  • How do transitions affect the exposome?
  • How can the exposome support public health policy/regulation?
  • How can the exposome improve medicine?
  • How do we develop new methods, tools, infrastructures?

Shape the exposome research

The interim exposome roadmap is now available for consultation until 15 October. Please review the interim document and provide feedback via this form.

Your feedback is crucial to ensure the roadmap reflects the diversity of expertise and priorities across sectors. We are looking for input from researchers as well as representatives from international organisations, governmental bodies, funding agencies, civil society groups, and industry.

We are particularly interested in your perspectives on the issues that have been insufficiently addressed by scientific research and public policy, but which exposome research could potentially tackle in the coming decades. Your responses will remain strictly anonymous and confidential.

We will present the roadmap to the European Commission in November 2025. If you have any questions or need further information, please feel free to contact us at rodney.ortiz@isglobal.org.
